Bingo Schmingo Music Book
Bingo Schmingo Music is a lesson guide with a companion CD featuring Kindergarten/1st grade students. It is written and produced by Kathleen Rushing using the guideline of the California State Standards. The Bingo Schmingo
Music book is included with each booking. Children and teachers will enjoy her songs far beyond her visit! Extra copies offered at a nominal fee.
Music is a powerful tool for language development and reading readiness:
1. Music allows a child to manipulate language, enabling him to express emotions and creative thought.
2. Music helps to develop the brain by aiding aesthetic perception. A heightened sense of perception, like fertile potting soil, enriches mental growth and language development.
3. Direct music participation enhances the development of creativity.
4. Music encourages the accumulation of concept images, helping a child gain confidence in expression and understanding the world around him.
5. Music allows patterns to become a part of a child’s schema for learning, familiarizing him with the pattern of language, rhythm and even mathematical principles.
6. Music makes a child a better listener and stimulates image making in the mind so that intangible concepts and insights can be better comprehended.
7.Music activities foster positive attitudes toward school and result in lowered rates of absenteeism
8. Musical expression contributes to a healthy self-concept and aids in the development of social skills and a contribution to the joy of others.
